Deliveries

The delivery fee for 10 mile driving distance of Mulch and Stuff by Smart Choice Storage Depot in Ormond Beach starts at $70. Additional charges apply for deliveries beyond this distance, orders for less than 3 cubic yards, and for orders up to 20 cubic yards for mulch, pine bark mini nuggets up to 16 cubic yards, and aggregate, sand, and/or dirt materials up to 4 cubic yards.

For bulk material deliveries (1 cubic yard or more), a minimum requirement of 3 cubic yards applies to qualify for a delivery fee of $70 ($90 for 2 cubic yards and $110 for 1 cubic yard).

Material Placement:

Delivery includes one dump on a hard surface with direct access. Additional dumps are $35 each. Maneuvering or non-direct access, including backing around structures or repositioning, is $35. Each time the dump trailer leaves a hard surface is $65 per move. Any on-site adjustments are $35. All additional charges are automatically applied if performed.

Delivery vehicles are required to remain on hard surfaces capable of supporting their weight. Off-surface placement is performed at the customer’s request and risk. Any towing, recovery, or damage resulting from off-surface conditions is the customer’s responsibility.

Delivery is processed by card to accommodate any additional charges incurred during placement.

Fuel Surcharge Policy: 

Fuel surcharges may apply to delivery orders based on current transportation costs. These charges originate from suppliers, freight carriers, or delivery providers and are passed through as incurred. When applicable, fuel surcharges are disclosed at the time of order. Fuel surcharges apply to deliveries only and do not apply to materials picked up at our yard.

Standard Delivery Conditions:

Delivery fees paid at the time of order placement are based on standard delivery conditions, which include direct access from the street or driveway to a single placement location on a hard surface. If additional placement, maneuvering, non-direct access, or off-surface conditions are requested or required at the delivery site, additional charges will apply as incurred and will be processed accordingly. Customers are responsible for ensuring that the delivery location provides adequate access and suitable surface conditions for the delivery vehicle.

We deliver even when it rains. However, please note that weather conditions may impact our delivery operations, including the state of materials as they are stored outdoors and timing of delivery. We deliver to one location per order; unfortunately, we cannot accommodate delivery to multiple locations. Each delivery is separate, and delivering to two locations would incur a delivery charge for each address. Additionally, we do not transport multiple items on one truck to prevent product mixing, as our trucks lack separators for this purpose.

Customers are responsible for reporting all road bans and providing a suitable offloading site for deliveries.

Special delivery dates and times may be available upon request. Once the customer pre-coordinates the date and time of delivery with Mulch and Stuff by Smart Choice, it is assumed that both the job is ready for materials and there is proper access for our trucks and/or vehicles.

Property Release Damage Waiver

Customer is responsible for ensuring that the delivery site is adequately accessible and suitable for delivery trucks, dump trailers, and equipment. By requesting delivery, the customer acknowledges and accepts all risks associated with site conditions, including access limitations, surface conditions, and placement requests. Customer agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Mulch and Stuff by Smart Choice from any and all claims, damages, costs, or liabilities, including attorney fees, arising from delivery operations performed at the customer’s request, including placement on or beyond hard surfaces. This includes, but is not limited to, damage to driveways, walkways, lawns, landscaping, underground utilities, or other property features.

Delivery Vehicle Restrictions

Delivery may be completed without the customer present if clear written instructions are provided and the delivery area is properly identified. Customers are responsible for ensuring the delivery location is clearly marked and free of obstructions, including overhead wires, tree limbs, and other hazards.

Delivery vehicles operate from public roadways and designated access points. Placement on private property is limited to areas that provide safe, direct access on hard surfaces capable of supporting the delivery vehicle. Additional maneuvering or non-direct access will result in additional charges as outlined in our delivery terms.

Due to local laws and safety regulations, we will not dump landscaping or construction materials in public streets, road shoulders, sidewalks, or other public right-of-way areas. These actions are prohibited in Volusia County, Flagler County, and in all incorporated cities within these counties, including Ormond Beach, Holly Hill, Daytona Beach, South Daytona, Daytona Beach Shores, Port Orange, and Palm Coast. Customers are responsible for providing a legal and suitable delivery location.

If a safe and suitable delivery location is not available upon arrival, delivery will be made to the nearest accessible location or may require rescheduling, and additional delivery fees may apply.

The delivery driver has final authority to determine whether placement is safe, legal, and feasible based on site conditions and access.

If a customer requests or directs the driver to move beyond standard access conditions, including leaving a hard surface, all risks associated with site conditions are assumed by the customer. Mulch and Stuff by Smart Choice assumes no responsibility for damage to driveways, sidewalks, curbs, landscaping, utilities, or other property features resulting from such requests.

If the delivery vehicle becomes stuck or requires towing or recovery due to site conditions or customer direction, all towing and recovery costs will be the responsibility of the customer.

Delivery Schedule

Due to the many variables associated with deliveries, all delivery dates and times stated by Mulch and Stuff by Smart Choice are approximate and are estimated in good faith to the best of our ability. Mulch and Stuff by Smart Choice shall not be liable for any failure to perform or for any delay in delivery or shipment of products, or for any damages or costs of any kind or nature suffered by the customer due to such failure or delay, when it is directly or indirectly caused by acts of God, acts of customers, war, riots, fires, explosions, floods, strikes, accidents, weather, traffic, failure in production or production equipment, shortage of raw materials, common carriers available for hire, labor or storage facilities, independent acts of any common carrier, or other cause or causes beyond the reasonable control of Mulch and Stuff by Smart Choice.

Excessive Delays Incurred on Delivery

Excessive delays incurred on a delivery due to customer access issues, customer direction, site conditions, or unloading delays may be billed to the Purchaser at a rate of $120.00 per hour.

Delays in Deliveries

Mulch and Stuff by Smart Choice is not responsible for delays due to delivery times, production times, weather, traffic, site access conditions, or any other factors beyond our control, nor for any costs associated with such delays to the Purchaser or Contractor.
