PAVER BASE MATERIALS
Paver base materials are compactable aggregates used to create stable, load-bearing foundations for pavers, driveways, walkways, access areas, and related construction and landscaping projects. Mulch & Stuff supplies paver base materials for residential, commercial, and light construction use throughout Volusia and Flagler County.
HONEST BULK MATERIALS — NO SHORT LOADS
All paver base materials are sold by the true cubic yard. Materials are loaded using a full 1-cubic-yard loader bucket, not undersized buckets commonly used elsewhere. This ensures customers receive the quantity they pay for.
TYPE 1 GRADE A PAVER BASE
Type 1 Grade A paver base is a higher-quality base material with a lower dirt content. It compacts well and is commonly used for paver installations where stability, drainage, and long-term performance are critical. This material is often selected for residential and commercial paver projects.
TYPE 2 GRADE B PAVER BASE
Type 2 Grade B paver base is a lower-cost alternative that contains a higher percentage of dirt compared to fines. Contractors often choose this option due to price, but the increased dirt content may allow weeds to establish over time if proper preparation is not performed.
ROAD BASE
Road base is a compactable aggregate material used for projects requiring stability and load-bearing performance. It is commonly used for driveways, access roads, parking areas, equipment paths, and similar applications. Road base is sold by the true cubic yard and is also available for dump truck delivery, typically in loads of 16 to 17 cubic yards.
CONCRETE SAND
Concrete sand is a coarse, angular sand commonly used in concrete mixes and certain construction applications. It provides better drainage and stability than fine sand and is frequently used alongside base materials in construction projects.
ASPHALT MILLINGS
Asphalt millings are a cost-effective alternative to traditional asphalt paving. They are commonly used for driveways, access roads, and parking areas. Asphalt millings are not typically used as structural foundation materials.
INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS
Proper base preparation, compaction, and material selection are essential to performance. In some applications, weed barrier fabric may be used beneath base materials to help reduce weed intrusion, particularly when using materials with higher dirt content.
